It’s easy to see that Adey is restless and relentless in his constant exploration of new possibilities. Adey has enjoyed a diverse international career as he moved between the role of entrepreneur and holding senior management positions regionally and globally at international companies like Merrill Lynch.
Prior to cofounding iMENA with Dr. Khaldoon Tabaza, Adey started his career as an entrepreneur and corporate executive before moving on to become an investment professional with a focus on TMT in recent years. He has provided strategic advisory projects to companies in the space of technology commercialization, market entry, deal sourcing, and structuring in Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Libya. He also served as a judge and mentor for the MIT Arab, OECD Mena 100, MSFT Imagine Cup, and the Wharton Arab business plan competitions.
Being a founder himself, Adey aims to re-imagine investments and support by venture capital firms in the MENA region for technology startups. In 2012, Adey started working with OpenSooq and transformed the company into the leading mobile classified platform in MENA—and a household name across the region.
“An entrepreneur today faces new kinds of challenges. Think execution first. Build a great team around you, understand your market, and be results-oriented."
Adey holds a Finance and Accounting Certificate from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
